“But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up.” (Psalm 41:10)
Originally released by the Irish-Norwegian duo Secret Garden and Irish singer Brian Kennedy in 2001, “You Raise Me Up” has since been recorded by dozens of other artists, most famously by Josh Groban. As you listen to the chorus in the cello excerpt from yours truly, consider the timeless lyrics, which bring to mind the words of Psalm 41 provided above:
You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
